I’ve successfully connected two blogs (installed seperately) with one user database. Users are now able to very easily set up an account and have it apply at all blogs in the “blog network”.
bbPress integration with this “uber user database” works as well, however my local installation of bbPress refuses to let me log in (I know it works though!).
So far, many have tried this, and failed gloriously (Google can tell you that) but I’ve done it successfully. Documented fully as well. Tutorial soon.

Zooomr
I was bored today so I drew this (in pencil). Then I got home and fleshed out the colour with my neato Wacom tablet.
Fun.
edit: fixed pic, zooomr had downtime
Alvin & the Chipmunks (Chopped & Screwed)

Here’s a (somewhat creepy) edit of the infamous Chipmunks’ Christmas Song - slowed down so that you hear the actual human voices (singing very slowly) behind Alvin, Simon, and Theodore!
Found via BoingBoing, fo sho. one of the weirdest things I’ve heard recently…

Bye Halo

I read on Cinematical a few days ago that the Halo movie was shut down. This was, on one hand, awesome. I don’t care for Microsoft at all, and I don’t think they deserve my favorite filmmaker, Peter Jackson.
Then I realized, dang! Peter Jackson had a project shut down! This upset me greatly, cuz, as my favorite filmmaker, I love seeing everything he does. I’ve seen all the Lord of the Rings films (extended editions) repeatedly, watch the documentaries constantly, I’m in the very small “King Kong kicked arse” camp, and I’m pumped to see the extended edition. I’m even trying to get ahold of some of his earlier works, like The Frighteners and Meet the Feebles.
While I’m happy to see the Microsoft cash cow slowed down, I’m disappointed the PJ had a project stopped.
Fortunately, we still have The Lovely Bones (PJ directing) and Dambusters (PJ producing, Christian Rivers, PJ’s long time storyboardist directing).
BTW, yes, I did quit TeenDev.

Google Lie?
Thursday, October 12, 2006
Google have posted a “Google for Educators” page where they offer tips on using Google’s apps in schools.
This page, for Google Docs and Spreadsheets, looks a bit strange to me. Google Docs and Spreadsheets was released yesterday - and Google already has teachers who claim to have been using it since the spring and earlier!
Last spring, I had my kids practice graphing data using Google Docs & Spreadsheets and earthquake data from the U.S Geological Survey.
As a teacher of English and journalism, I sign all my students up for Google Docs & Spreadsheets accounts to help facilitate their work.
Wow - they got results quickly.
I have to wonder whether Google is misquoting these people (perhaps these are quotes from Spreadsheets and Writely users).
Any thoughts?

On YouMakeMedia today I got a breaking news story! I was in the Google Press Conference (via Skype) where they were talking about their purchase of YouTube!
It was cool!!
I’m still pumped…
